Austin Cotillion Curriculum

The Austin Cotillion curriculum is designed to teach students essential life skills through a blend of modern etiquette, social confidence, and dance. Each class builds character, respect, and poise in a fun, age-appropriate environment. Our program fosters personal growth while preparing children and teens for social and professional success.

Dance Curriculum

Partner dancing is an important skill as it teaches your student cooperation, respect, and teamwork. Dance is a social activity that requires interpersonal as well as physical grace.

Students will learn how to be a considerate and thoughtful dance partner in order to ensure a wonderful experience before, during, and after each dance.

While there are many social dances, we focus on the most popular such as Waltz, Swing, Rumba, Merengue, Foxtrot, and many others. We also teach non-partner / line dances that your student will enjoy doing at school dances, weddings, or other social events.

Social Skills Curriculum

In addition to the social dance instruction, your children will also learn the following important life skills.

  • Greetings / Introductions / First Impressions

  • Handshakes & Eye Contact

  • Conversation Skills

  • Friendship Building

  • Leadership & Teamwork

  • Table Manners

  • Dining Etiquette

  • Social Media Etiquette

  • Self-Confidence

These concepts are taught in a fun and engaging manner that guarantees your child will remember them and understand why they are so important in everyday life. Many of our students register for both Fall and Spring sessions, This allows us to reinforce key concepts while expanding on others.

Our Fall classes focus on foundational skills, including proper table manners, respectful communication, and introductions. These lessons are essential for building a strong social foundation. In the Spring, we will build upon these skills with more advanced topics. Our Spring curriculum delves into specific social situations like advanced dining etiquette, networking, and techniques for navigating a variety of social situations. While the Fall provides the essential building blocks, the Spring session offers an opportunity to refine those skills and apply them in more complex and diverse scenarios.
