Debbie Fisher is a lifelong Austin resident with an extensive background in education, dance, and healthcare. Her teaching career began in high school, where she choreographed and instructed for her school's dance team and theater department. She later taught children's programs in the Marshall Islands, ballroom dance at The University of Texas, and classes at local dance studios. 

In addition to being a certified dance instructor, Debbie holds teaching certifications in Psychology and Biology from The University of Texas and earned a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Washington University. Throughout her career, she has successfully integrated movement, communication, and social engagement into her work with individuals of all ages and abilities.

A respected educator and clinician, Debbie has presented at national and international professional conferences and has been one of the few honored with the Texas Distinguished Excellence in Education Award in 2022 by fellow occupational therapist.

 As a mother of three sons, Debbie is deeply committed to helping young people develop confidence, character, leadership, and strong interpersonal skills. Through Austin Cotillion, she combines her passion for education, etiquette, and dance to create meaningful experiences that help students build poise, self-confidence, and lasting social connections.

Before launching his career as a professional magician and motivational speaker, Cody earned a degree in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from The University of Texas at Austin. His passion for education led him to teach students at the elementary, secondary, and collegiate levels, giving him a unique understanding of how to engage and inspire learners of all ages.

As an educational speaker, Cody has developed and presented impactful programs focused on modern manners, modern eitquette, character development, motivation, leadership, self-esteem, and personal growth. His presentations have reached hundreds of schools throughout Texas and audiences around the world through his widely viewed TEDx talks.

Drawing from his unique background in education, comedy, magic, and motivational speaking, Cody creates unforgettable experiences that entertain, inspire, and leave students with practical life lessons they can apply long after the program ends.

Ashton Fisher Austin Cotillion.png

Ashton Fisher is a pre-med student and honors graduate of Concordia University Texas who brings energy, professionalism, and a passion for mentoring young people to Austin Cotillion. With a strong academic background and a commitment to service, Ashton is pursuing a career in medicine while dedicating his time to helping students develop confidence, character, and leadership skills.

Ashton has extensive experience working with students as a tutor and mentor, providing individualized support that helps young people build confidence, strengthen communication skills, and achieve their goals. His approachable demeanor, patience, and ability to connect with students make him a valued instructor and role model.

 

A former Cotillion participant himself, Ashton understands firsthand the lasting benefits of etiquette, social confidence, and respectful communication. He is passionate about helping students develop the poise and interpersonal skills that will serve them throughout their academic, professional, and personal lives.

 

Outside of Cotillion, Ashton enjoys playing the saxophone, exploring new music, and staying active through hiking and swimming. He is honored to be part of the Austin Cotillion team and looks forward to helping students build meaningful friendships, confidence, and life skills in a fun and encouraging environment.

Ayden Fisher Austin Cotillion 2.png

Ayden Fisher is an Austin native, graduate of Westwood High School, and former Austin Cotillion student who is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration at The University of Texas at Austin's McCombs School of Business. Having experienced Cotillion firsthand, he understands the value of confidence, etiquette, and strong interpersonal skills and enjoys helping students develop those same qualities.

Ayden brings leadership experience through customer service, student organizations, and local youth government programs. He has been recognized for his academic achievements as a recipient of the Balcones Women's Association Scholarship and the Fay T. Barnes Scholarship and has earned a place on the University Honors List.

 

As an Austin Cotillion instructor, Ayden helps students build confidence, poise, and social skills through dance instruction and mentorship. His positive energy and ability to connect with young people create a fun and encouraging learning environment.

 

Outside of Cotillion, Ayden is actively involved at UT as a member of the UT Ballroom Dance Club and the UT Fencing Team. He also enjoys reading, playing piano, and staying active.

UT Business Student

Alex Fisher is a student at Westwood High School who brings energy, enthusiasm, and a passion for working with young people to the Austin Cotillion program. Having participated in Cotillion for more than five years, Alex has developed strong dance skills in the waltz, merengue, rumba, swing, and other social dances while gaining a firsthand appreciation for the confidence, etiquette, and social skills the program helps students develop.

As a student instructor, Alex enjoys helping students feel comfortable on the dance floor and discover that learning to dance can actually be fun. His patience, positive attitude, and ability to connect with younger students create an encouraging environment where students can build confidence, make friends, and maybe even realize they don't have two left feet after all.

Beyond Cotillion, Alex enjoys both playing tennis for Westwood High School and volunteering as a youth tennis coach.  When not on the court he enjoys playing the piano and saxophone.

 

Alex is currently pursuing the Business and Industry pathway and plans to study business in college. He is proud to give back to a program that has played an important role in his own development and looks forward to helping students build confidence, character, and friendships that will benefit them for years to come.

Parent & Student Volunteers

It really does take a village to raise a child. Every year we are so fortunate to get such wonderful help from our amazing parent and student volunteers.

Parent volunteers help out with just about every aspect of cotillion to ensure that everything runs smoothly.

 

Student volunteers help organize our refreshment breaks, help studetns with questions, and assist students with the various dances.
